Money site hires One 2 One chief

One 2 One marketer Colin Morley has been hired as the first marketing director for online personal financial services provider Moneygator. Morley leaves the mobile phone operator this week after five years with the company.

He was most recently head of interactive marketing, developing the company’s website and services. In his previous role as general manager of customer marketing and brand development, he helped establish One 2 One’s famous branding campaign.

Prior to One 2 One, Morley held senior marketing positions at Weetabix and Quaker Oats. He has been in the industry for 22 years.

Moneygator launched in April and allows consumers to compare terms for credit cards, personal loans and mortgages from a wide range of financial providers. Customers can then apply for products online.

Morley says it is time for him to move on from One 2 One: “Moneygator is an exciting new challenge – both telecoms and online finance are dynamic and competitive industries. It’s a powerful product using unique proprietary software enabling comparisons of financial options online. The first thing to do is clarify the brand positioning and the positioning of the site.”

He will develop and integrate Moneygator’s e-commerce strategy, increasing consumer and business acquisition and building the brand. He will appoint six or seven new members to the marketing team.
