Work24 site hires Telecom Express boss
Work24, the £70m Internet joint venture of ScottishPower and the Royal Bank of Scotland, has appointed former Telecom Express chief Simon Ward as marketing director.
Work24, the &£70m Internet joint venture of ScottishPower and the Royal Bank of Scotland, has appointed former Telecom Express chief Simon Ward as marketing director.
Ward, who has been in marketing for 15 years, was previously a director at Telecom Express and Clarke Hooper Consulting marketing agency group, both owned by Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO.
Ward will be responsible for marketing the portal and will oversee future online developments. He is looking to appoint a team of six extra marketers.
Work24 aims to enable the UK’s 3.6 million small and medium-sized businesses to harness the commercial benefits of the Internet by offering products and services. The site offers business news and advice, a free website-building facility, networking opportunities and special offers on equipment.
Work24’s brand identity and on- and offline advertising, worth an annual six-figure sum, has been created by Attik. An online campaign is already underway.
