Men fall down on festive spirit

A survey from Country Living magazine has just confirmed what women have always known – men are cheap. The report has one bit of crucial Christmas advice for the ladies: make sure nothing on your wanted list is worth more than &£100.

Almost one third of men spend less than &£100 on Christmas presents, according to the survey. But in return they can expect to be showered with gifts – 60 per cent of women plan to spend more than &£200 and 30 per cent will fork out more than &£350 this year.

The report also scotches the popular belief that Scots are stingy – 35 per cent of canny Scots plan to spend &£350 or more.
