AXA takes on ex-Pru chief Frank Wilson

AXA Sun Life, the life insurance brand of the insurance and asset management company AXA, has appointed the former marketing director at Prudential Retail, Frank Wilson, as its new marketing director.

Wilson will control all marketing activity and takes over the role of marketing strategy director from Rob Lee, who has been given the title of strategic change director for AXA Sun Life. Both will report to the chief executive of AXA Sun Life, Andy Haste.

Wilson says: “AXA Sun Life has outlined an ambitious growth strategy and marketing will have a significant contribution to make.”

Last week AXA appointed the former Land Rover brand director, Andy Hurst, to the newly created role of director of brand development (MW November 23).

Wilson left Prudential Retail following the merger of the retail and group pensions divisions of Prudential, a month ago. Sean Tompkins, former head of marketing for group pensions, took over the top position as head of marketing for the new group, rebranded Prudential Financial Services.

Prudential Retail recently announced the recruitment of former Halifax online chief Jaz Saggu to head the newly created e-commerce division within its marketing department (MW November 9).
