CIA wins £70m Richemont European media account

Richemont, the Swiss luxury goods group, has appointed CIA to handle its £70m centralised media buying and planning business across Europe, following its pitch against Initiative Media, MindShare and OMD.

Richemont, the Swiss luxury goods group, has appointed CIA to handle its &£70m centralised media buying and planning business across Europe, following its pitch against Initiative Media, MindShare and OMD.

It means CIA will be buying the media for luxury brands such as Alfred Dunhill, Cartier, Hackett, Lancel and Chloe from the start of next year.

Richemont’s accounts were split between several agencies. Incumbents included Starcom Motive, which handled Alfred Dunhill; Media Planing, which handled Cartier; Total Media, which handled Hacketts; and Initiative Media,which handled the Mont Blanc business.

Richemont worldwide media director Philippe Nettre says: “We have chosen CIA as Richemont’s European partner for its strong network, its proprietary systems and its qualitative approach to our needs.”

Hackett is also looking for a creative agency to create an upmarket advertising campaign for the clothes designer.
