Collins makes a show of herself

Last week’s Diary logged the travails of Booth Lockett Makin associate director Gary Jones, who became trapped in a bank. This week, corporate identity consultancy Glazer has nominated strategy director Isabel Collins for another Mr Blobby mishap award. Renowned for failing to master even the simplest piece of technology, Collins recently excelled herself at a hi-tech London conference. After the venue’s lights failed as she took the stage, she was forced to speak in the dim glow of two ornate candelabras. As this were not enough, Collins’ laptop refused to connect to a projector and she had to give her presentation to hundreds of delegates with the assistance of a decidedly lo-tech piece of A4 paper, before the computer finally came on. As one amused colleague points out: “She used to be a stand-up comic”. Sounds as if she still is!
