Toyota adds senior role to marketing team

Toyota GB has created a new senior communications role to oversee all of its advertising and direct marketing.

Mark Hall, who moves internally from fleet sales has been promoted to the position of general manager, communications. Hall, who starts on January 1 2001, will also be in charge of new media, customer relationship marketing and after-sales communications, and will be the first point of contact for all the agencies on Toyota’s roster, which includes Saatchi & Saatchi and Brann.

Reporting to Paul Philpott, Toyota’s marketing director, Hall’s brief is to bring together all communications to support the car company’s long-term objective to build on the brand’s “emotional and aspirational appeal”.

Hall says: “I am looking forward to playing a key role in Toyota’s marketing team. Frequent face-to-face customer contact with Toyota fleet customers has given me invaluable insight into how the brand is currently perceived.”

Hall has been at Toyota for nearly 12 years. He has spent most of this time on the sales side of the business, holding positions such as area sales manager and general manager for fleet sales.
