ISL marketer to join Sportsworld

Malcolm Crease has left ISL, the sports TV production, sponsorship and event marketing company, for a wider brief at the Sportsworld Media Group.

Crease, who was ISL’s vice-president for sales and marketing in its tennis division, had been at the organisation since October 1999.

He starts in January as the first commercial director for Sportsworld in Europe, overseeing commercial operations and expanding portfolio rights.

The company is best known for its involvement in freesports such as surfing, windsurfing, snowboarding and mountain biking.

It is understood Crease will focus on the group’s global sports rights, but will also be involved in entertainment.

Crease said: “I consider this a step up in terms of responsibility and team management.

“At ISL I had responsibility for tennis. But now I have got a wider brief covering sports, free sports and entertainment. The way in which advertising is delivered is changing, and this is a tremendous opportunity to be involved at the start of a new era in the business.”

Sportsworld was launched 18 months ago by former Omnicom chief executive officer Geoff Brown. The company works with sports and events, broadcasters, global advertisers, Internet providers and merchandisers.
