Whinger of Oz socks it to the Brits

The UK might be seen by some as the most xenophobic of nations, what with certain Brits’ predilection for Euro-scaremongering.

But the award for continued dedication to giving us a taste of our own medicine has to go to the Aussies. Pommie-bashing has been a way of life for more than 200 years, so why stop now?

No surprise, then, that when the Diary caught up with broadcaster and author Clive James to chat about Aussieinlondon.com, the service offering his countrymen advice on living in the UK, the Great Man took the chance to have another swipe.

James carped: “If the service had been around 30 years ago, I might not have come here had I known about the weather, the trains and the diseases!”

Happy New Year, Clive!
