South Park characters endorse ready meals

South Park, famous for its foul-mouthed schoolboys, is to be featured in a range of ready-made meals.

G2K Promotions won licensing rights for eight meat products called South Park – Chef’s Premium Collection.

G2K has teamed up with manufacturing companies to produce the range. Kitchen Range Foods will produce Chef’s Meaty Balls and Quarter Pounder Beefburgers; Moy Park will make Southern Style Chicken Dippers; Grampian Pork Halls will make Chef’s Love Sausage, South Park Bangers and Chef’s Stuffing Balls; and Padleys will produce South Park Quarter Pounder Breaded Chicken Burgers and South Park Chicken Nuggets.

The meals will be in supermarkets from February and if successful the range could be extended.

South Park is owned by Comedy Central. Merchandise includes confectionery, toys and stationery.

The Licensing Company director of entertainment licensing Lisa Shapiro controls licensing rights in the UK, and claims merchandise sales of more than £300m.

She adds: “We have tried to reflect the cartoon’s originality and hope the move into food products will continue the success story.”
