Psion to review global creative account

The incumbent Spirit is believed to be involved in a four-way pitch, which is being handled by the AAR. Spirit has handled Psion’s business for 14 months.

Psion, which aims to dominate the market for software on mobile phones and mobile computers, is understood to be looking for an agency to create pan-European and global campaigns for new and existing products.

The media planning account, which in the UK is held by John Ayling & Associates, is not believed to be part of the review.

The global creative pitch follows a review of the company’s marketing structure by Psion marketing director Alasdair Seton-Marsden.

Psion’s EPOC operating system has been identified by Microsoft chief Bill Gates as the biggest threat to Microsoft’s Windows CE.

The company’s Psion Connect unit makes PC modem cards that connect hand-held computers to mobile phones. Psion Enterprise Computing produces hand-held data terminals for industrial and warehouse use.
