Energis raids Eurobell for head of marketing

Energis Interactive has poached cable operator Eurobell’s residential marketing director Justin Dewhirst, to head marketing in the lead up to the launch of its new interactive digital TV service.

Bright Blue, expected to launch this spring on satellite, will rival BSkyB’s Open and offer shopping, banking, travel, betting and recruitment services.

Energis Interactive is in talks with Partners BDDH, the agency which handles Energis’ &£3m advertising account, about working on Bright Blue.

Energis Interactive managing director Tim Harris says: “Dewhirst will join as head of marketing and will have full marketing responsibility, not just from a consumer perspective, but also business.

Energis Interactive has yet to sign up content partners for Bright Blue. The service will be available through the Internet and mobile phones.

Energis Interactive is talking to TV channels, advertisers and advertising agencies about introducing interactivity to ads and programming. The company is also in discussions about putting the service on digital cable.

Energis Interactive, the trading name of Energis Graham, is a joint venture between Energis, the telecoms and Internet solutions company, and software developer Graham Technology.
