Saga tipped to hand RPM3 £3m account

Doner Cardwell Hawkins will keep the company’s holiday business, which was not under review.

It is not known which companies pitched for the Saga Services business. CIA holds the media planning account.

Saga, which provides services for the over-50s and is based in Folkestone, recently ruled out becoming an insurance company to concentrate on increasing its product portfolio to include long-term care, critical illness and term assurance.

Saga has a database of 6.5 million customers aged over 50 and sells insurance to 1 million of them.

Andrew Goodsell, managing director of Saga Services, says: “There is great room for growth.”

The company designs and underwrites its own policies under delegated authority and places &£250m of premium income a year.

Norwich Union provides the company’s household, pet, holiday-home, caravan and boat insurance.
