ThinkNatural to sell goods off-line

ThinkNatural.co.uk, the online natural health retailer, is launching a range of products through its backer, Superdrug. The products are based on the ancient Indian therapy of Ayurveda and Chinese herbalism.

The range will be available in Superdrug stores nationwide, as well as online and through the ThinkNatural mail-order catalogue.

The company declines to reveal the exact product line-up prior to the official launch later this month, but it is thought to include herbal supplements and massage oils.

Ayurveda – an Indian healing system involving yoga, meditation, herbal medicine and massage – enjoys huge popularity in the West where celebrities including Madonna and Geri Halliwell have embraced its principles.

The system centres around the belief that people can be divided into three different body types determined by their personalities and physical build.

ThinkNatural was founded in 1999 and is backed by a consortium of investors, including Superdrug’s parent company Kingfisher. Robin Klein, chairman of Arcadia Group e-commerce and home-shopping operations, is ThinkNatural’s chairman.

The company launched a German version of its website last week but would not comment on any plans for further expansion.

ThinkNatural’s main UK rival, Clickmango, the health and beauty site fronted by actress Joanna Lumley, closed in September last year.
