Bendicks of Mayfair has appointed Unity to handle its &£1.5m creative account.

The confectioner, which makes Campino boiled sweets and luxury chocolates, has handed the agency the business permanently after it created a Christmas campaign for the Bendicks brand.

The agency will create a campaign for the brand which is expected to break in the summer. Bendicks has yet to decide whether this will include TV ads.

The decision was made after Leagas Delaney resigned the account after ten years, following disagreements about future campaigns (MW September 21).

MBS Media, which handles Bendicks’ media buying and planning, will not be affected by the decision for the time being.

Anne Hollamby, head of marketing at Bendicks, says: “We have been very happy with the work Unity has done for us since last summer.”

But she adds: “We are reviewing our media strategy on Bendicks. The Christmas campaign featured press ads, but we have previously been on TV. We are currently researching the impact of the Christmas campaign.”

Hollamby adds that Bendicks has scope to increase the marketing budget if it feels a bigger expenditure is appropriate.

Hollamby joined Bendicks last year from Yoplait Dairy Crest, where she was marketing director.
