BA signs up to travel spa launch

Cosmetics group Molton Brown is teaming up with British Airways to launch “well-being” centres at Heathrow and JFK airports.

Molton Brown Travel Spas will open next month at Heathrow’s Terminal 4, and in June at JFK in the US. The centres, which cover 6,000 sq ft, will offer first-class BA passengers free beauty and health treatments.

Two more spas will be opened this year at unnamed airports.

The roll-out of travel spas will also coincide with the introduction of baby products, called Go-Baby-Go, in the Molton Brown range.

The cosmetics company is also looking at providing dedicated spas for babies in the well-being centres.

Many airports already offer mini-spas to their customers, but Molton Brown claims that this is the first time that beauty therapies will be provided in a dedicated space at airports.

Molton Brown marketing director Charles Denton says: “This partnership with BA is very exciting. The roll-out of the spa at JFK also signals our growing ambitions in the US.”

The move coincides with the launch of the first Molton Brown store in New York in October this year. The company has six stores in the UK.
