Johnson & Johnson, the consumer and personal care company, is joining forces with Danone, the French food giant, to develop a range of skincare products, under the brand name Evian Affinity.

Johnson’s has indicated that a roll-out of the new range into other markets could follow if the French launch is a success. The company would not discuss which markets it would be available in. Evian Affinity, formed under a licensing contract with Danone’s Evian brand, will include nine face and body care products.

Johnson’s already has a range of dermatology brands, including Neutrogena, Aveeno and Roc.

The companies claim that Evian Affinity products are formulated with natural Evian water and suitable for all skin types. They will be available in a reusable and recyclable transparent pouch with a zip-lock.

Early this year, Johnson’s UK promoted its managing director Ignacio Larracoechea to area manager for UK, Ireland, France and the Benelux and Scandinavian countries (MW January 18).
