Smile banks top score in Gomez online survey

Gomez, the website quality measurement specialist, has given top marks to Co-op subsidiary Smile in its latest online banking survey.

This is the third consecutive quarter that Smile has dominated the Gomez league table. After a site upgrade, First Direct moved up the scorecard, ranking fourth overall, while Halifax’s Intelligent Finance, made its debut at number seven.

Smile performed consistently well, and secured top place in the “customer confidence” and “onsite resources” categories. Nationwide was first for ease of use and relationship services; Abbey National’s Cahoot won out for overall cost.

Ed Bowie, senior online banking analyst for Gomez, says the fact that no bank has superseded Smile’s top ranking “is testament to the breadth of its offering and the reliability of its service”.
