Bogus Becks upsets Express

Role reversal took on a whole new meaning when media agency stars appeared on the cover of Now, a place normally occupied by celebrities like David Beckham.

Publishers IPC Media thought it would be fun to put Walker Media’s Phil Georgiadis, Mediacom’s Steve Goodman and Granada Sky Broadcasting’s Anne Cook on the cover of a special edition of Now, to celebrate the title’s latest circulation rise.

The cover stars were even treated to a visit from a Becks lookalike.

But Northern & Shell, publishers of rival OK! and The Express, probably thought the fun had gone a bit far when Posh and Becks’ lookalikes were pictured reading the special edition of Now on the steps of the Express offices. For those not in the know, the real Posh and Becks regularly appear in the pages of OK! and The Express, and are reported to be “friends” of proprietor Richard Desmond.
