Spirit to handle £1m oxygen range launch

Spirit Group has been appointed to handle the launch of a range of oxygen-based products called Ogo.

The range is being developed by O-Company, based in Belgium. The first product to hit the shelves in the UK will be an oxygen canister, targeting city dwellers who are affected by pollution.

O-Company says the canister allows users to inhale clean oxygen at any time. The canister will be rolled out in the UK and Europe in spring. Further product launches will follow.

Spirit won the £1m launch account after a three-way pitch against two undisclosed agencies. The group’s three divisions, above-the-line Spirit Advertising, below-the-line Spirit DPM and new media arm e-Spirit, will create campaigns to promote Ogo across the UK and Europe. The agency will also be responsible for developing the O-Company brand.

O-Company founder Bart Meijer says: “Spirit offered the company the most creative mix of advertising and marketing capabilities.

“We have found Spirit a true partner in developing the Ogo brand into a global commodity, while being sensitive to the challenges we face as a start-up company, creating a totally new market segment.”

Spirit Group founder and managing partner Richard Hammond adds: “This is a 21st century product which will play an important role among urban dwellers and improve the quality of their lives.”

A small percentage of O-Company’s sales revenue will be donated to a charity fund to support community initiatives.
