Holiday Autos poaches md from Hertz

Holiday Autos has raided rival Hertz to recruit Joanne Pyshorn as its UK and Ireland marketing director.

Pyshorn joins from Hertz Europe where she is head of marketing for its European trade and consumer division. She previously worked at Eurostar in various communications roles.

The position at Holiday Autos has been created to reflect the growth in business, both in the UK and internationally. To date the role has been part of group marketing and communications director Sara Zimmerman’s remit.

Pyshorn’s appointment is the latest in a string of senior management changes at the leisure car rental company. The last was the appointment of Budget UK managing director Douglas Sawers to the role of UK and Ireland managing director. Pyshorn will report to Sawers.

Sawers’ role was held by Tony Seaman who moved to become group sales director last month. At the same time Holiday Autos group managing director Mick Shires left after seven years with the company to start a travel consultancy business.

Earlier this year Holiday Autos appointed Davies Little Cowley Fiddes to handle its £3.5m ad account.

Zimmerman says: “Pyshorn’s appointment completes the management restructure for the UK.”
