Renault UK rejigs as ad chief quits

Renault UK has restructured its communications department following the departure of advertising chief Tim Mack.

Mack, who joined Renault in 1988, has left to start his own consultancy.

The communications department, which previously incorporated advertising and promotions as well as press and public relations, has been split in two.

Chris White, former manager of communications planning, becomes head of marketing communications – previously the advertising and promotions section of the communications department. Tim Jackson, manager of press and public relations, is promoted to director of the newly created press and public relations department. Both will report to marketing director Bruno Vanel.

Vanel will have overall marketing responsibility, while also looking after product planning, pricing, vehicle distribution and customer relationship marketing.

Danielle Perray, director of finance, has been promoted to European finance director of Renault Group. She will be replaced by Francois Le Maistre, who joins the UK operation from elsewhere within Renault Group.

Helen Thompson joins Renault UK as director of information systems, replacing Patrick Keating, who is moving to a new position at Renault’s Paris head office.

Renault spends about £70m a year on advertising in the UK, with work through the CST Group, Publicis and Stretch the Horizon.
