EURO wins £12m Credit Suisse

Credit Suisse Group, the financial services company, has awarded its £12m global branding brief to EURO RSCG Wnek Gosper, following a two-way pitch against US agency Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners.

The two agencies were shortlisted after an initial pitch which included two other undisclosed Swiss agencies.

Credit Suisse Group last advertised in 1997, with a press campaign through EURO RSCG. The agency was asked to complete the one-off project but has now been appointed as global branding agency.

Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners already handles advertising for the group’s investment bank, Credit Suisse First Boston.

The £12m global campaign will comprise television, press and online advertising. The campaign, aimed at raising awareness of the group, will be developed by the London office of EURO RSCG and then rolled out internationally.

EURO RSCG also handles the retail banking account for Abbey National. The account director at EURO RSCG, Christian Hinchcliffe, says: “There is no conflict between the Abbey National and the Credit Suisse Group accounts, since we handle only personal banking for Abbey National.”

The Credit Suisse Group comprises four different business units – Credit Suisse First Boston, Credit Suisse Private Banking, Credit Suisse Asset Management and Credit Suisse Financial Services.
