Never trust a used-car salesman

Interesting news has reached The Diary about Barclays’ new group marketing director Simon Gulliford. It seems the flamboyant Welsh marketer fancies himself as a bit of an Arthur Daley, as he runs a Ford dealership.

We’re curious to know whether he will bring his car salesman skills to Barclays. Will customers be offered a “nice little earner”? If people default on mortgage repayments will they receive a visit from Terry McCann? And will married men be offered a joint account for ‘er indoors?

The Diary thinks these questions deserve an answer. Good luck in the job Simon. And remember, the world is your lobster.
