Tyre giant Goodyear has appointed Cathryn Fischer to head its global marketing.
Fischer, who will be based at Goodyear’s Akron, Ohio headquarters, will be responsible for the company’s global marketing and brand management.
Fischer joins from Newell-Rubbermaid, where she was vice-president of marketing for its main business, Rubbermaid Home Products. She joined Rubbermaid in 1997.
Prior to joining Rubbermaid, Fischer worked at Procter & Gamble for 14 year in marketing. Her last position at P&G was general manager of its cosmetics and fragrances business, which covered the Max Factor, Oil of Olay and Cover Girl lines.
Goodyear recently appointed Omnicom-owned Goodby, Silverstein & Partners to handle its $60m (&£42m) advertising account. J Walter Thompson had previously held the account.
Fischer will report to Goodyear’s president, Robert Keegan, who says: “Cathy has an exceptional background in consumer product marketing and has successfully managed some of the world’s most famous brands.”
