Captive View launches TV ads in pub toilets

Captive View, the public toilet media specialist, is launching its “Viewloo” concept in venues across the country.

Pub and club chain, Po Na Na, launched the system in the refurbished Hammersmith Palais and plans to install the system in its 57 venues.

Through the use of TV screens, Viewloo allows clients to advertise to men and women using toilets. Each unit contains a sensor to record the number of times each advertisement is viewed.

Advertisers such as 20th Century Fox, Virgin Interactive, Sony Cybershot and Universal International Pictures, have signed up to be part of the hi-tech system, which claims it will be able to reach 1.6 million viewers per month on 400 screens following its mainstream expansion.

Po Na Na chief executive Christian Arden says customer feedback about the system has been positive so far.

“We think the screens provide an innovative way for advertisers and Po Na Na to promote brands and events through an entertaining and interactive medium,” he says.

Captive View managing director Ronnie Rees says: “The success of the Viewloos at high profile venues, shows that our products offer the ideal method of getting to the notoriously difficult-to-reach 18to 30-year-old market.”
