It’s not very nice in the country

It’s nice to see the British Tourist Authority taking the damage done to our tourist industry seriously: “It would be unwise at this point to decide exactly what format such activity would take,” says their spokesman.

What a wonderful civil service this country has. They couldn’t possibly take remedial action over the biggest crisis our tourist industry has seen until they’ve sat down, talked it over, written a report, redrafted it and then started all over again. Meanwhile, people all over the country are re-using teabags and wondering whether they can afford a newspaper. Thanks, BTA.
