Lowe Lintas loses creative director to Clemmow Hornby

Lowe Lintas creative director Charles Inge is leaving the agency to join Clemmow Hornby, the TBWA/London breakaway agency set up by Simon Clemmow and Johnny Hornby.

Inge, who has been at Lowe for 15 years, is well-known throughout the advertising industry for his work on brands such as Stella Artois, Tesco and Weetabix.

It is not clear when Inge will leave Lowe to take up his new post. The agency remains tight-lipped about any possible replacement.

A spokesman for Lowe says: “If he goes it is with our blessing and support. We have 22 very talented creative teams and a chairman [Paul Weinberger] who was creative director for ten years. It will be a smooth transition.”

Clemmow Hornby last week won the £5m above-the-line account for the Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society. The agency already holds the £15m Carphone Warehouse account, which Clemmow and Hornby will take with them when they leave TBWA later this month.

Former minister Peter Mandelson is reported to be considering an offer to join Clemmow Hornby as a paid director or consultant.

Mandelson is a close friend of Hornby, and was involved in awarding the Labour Party’s advertising contract to TBWA.
