Channel 5 will next week launch a &£2m campaign for Australian soap Home and Away. It will be the largest single promotion the TV channel has run since its launch.

Walsh Trott Chick Smith has created the press and poster ads, featuring members of the Home and Away cast dressed in Channel 5 colours.

Home and Away will be the centrepiece of Channel 5’s new daytime schedule. From July 16, the Ozzie soap will be screened at 12.30pm and 6pm on weekdays, with an omnibus shown on Saturdays.

Channel 5 moved its main early evening news bulletin to 5.30pm to make way for a new “soap hour” from 6pm.
