Safer route to corporate cash

I disagree with the tone of your article on the Schools Plus scheme (MW May 31). As a school governor with a marketing background, I was glad to hear about the scheme because I have been struggling to find acceptable methods of corporate fundraising for our school.

The point of the Schools Plus scheme is that it pinpoints a way to tap into corporate money without allowing our children to be targeted by voracious marketing campaigns.

If UK schools adopt the scheme then the abhorrent scenarios seen in the US are less likely to happen because schools won’t be forced to go with a begging bowl to business.
