Reuters UK has appointed Beeb Ventures to build advertising on its Reuters.co.uk and newly launched Kalends.com sites.

This is the first time the Beeb Ventures sales team has represented an external client. Its main focus remains managing advertising sales across online sites for Gardeners’ World, Top of the Pops, Top Gear and Good Homes.

Beeb Ventures, which operates shopping portal Beeb.com and free ISP Beeb.net, is a subsidiary of BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC. Its advertising sales team will have responsibility for creating online campaigns for advertisers on the Reuters.co.UK and Kalends sites, covering banner and rich media advertising and sponsorship.

Reuters hopes to transform its branded UK news site into a leading personal finance portal in the UK. Kalends is billed as a future event information service.
