Banc lands £2m Swan Hellenic cruises pitch

P&O’s upmarket cruise company Swan Hellenic has appointed Banc to handle its £2m advertising account.

Banc picked up the business after a pitch against Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy and the incumbent Team Saatchi, which had held the account for three years. Banc has been briefed to give the cruise company a new image.

Swan Hellenic sales and marketing director Carolanne Dieleman oversaw the review.

The first work is expected in time for the autumn season.

The review follows Miles Calcraft’s appointment in March to handle the £7m account for P&O’s branded cruises. The business was reviewed when Leo Burnett resigned after only three months due to client conflict with Disney World.

Media buying on the account is handled by Booth Lockett Makin. This arrangement is not affected by the review.

Swan Hellenic operates ocean and river cruises, carrying fewer passengers than the other P&O cruise brands. The upmarket cruise line travels to the Mediterranean, the Baltic, Black and Red Seas, the Persian Gulf and Asia. River cruises are conducted on the Rhine, the Danube and the Rhone.
