BBC Worldwide appoints marketing chief for new region

BBC Worldwide has promoted Grant Bushby to the newly created role of head of marketing for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) regions.

Formerly marketing manager for the regions, he will oversee a marketing team of five and report to sales director for the areas, Alison Homewood.

Bushby will continue to be responsible for devising, implementing and managing marketing strategies for all sales and publishing activities in the regions.

Homewood says: “During his time with us, his dedication and determination has ensured the growth of major BBC brands and Worldwide’s prominence across the EMEIA regions.”

Having joined BBC Worldwide in September 1999, Bushby has been a key player in launching Teletubbies in Russia, Top of the Pops in Italy, and a Tweenies pre-Christmas promotion for El Cortes Ingles, the Spanish department store chain.

Grant joined BBC Worldwide from M-Net Television in South Africa where he was programme publicity manager and marketing manager for Movie Magic and the Movie Magic Channel.

BBC Worldwide has also promoted Liza Patoux to senior marketing executive. She will report to Bushby and work across all areas of marketing and promotional activity.
