Italian luxury brand prepares for UK launch
Italian luxury goods label Malo plans to open its first UK store in September in Sloane Street, London.
The Malo label, best known for its cashmere clothing, encompasses womenswear, menswear, homeware and accessories. The label plans to go head-on with the likes of luxury brands including Hermes and Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH).
The luxury brand, which has stores in Italy and the US, plans to launch a press advertising campaign later this year. Creative work is handled in house.
In the UK, Malo is sold through Harrods and Browns. It is part of an Italian fashion house, Ittierre, which produces youth collections for fashion houses such as Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Gianfranco Ferre and Roberto Cavalli.
Ittierre also produces jeans, sportswear and accessories, primarily for young adults, under its Exte brand. The company also owns luxury clothing brand Romeo Gigli and the Husky brand.
The Italian fashion house is 70 per cent-owned by founder and chairman Tonino Perna. Gruppo Tonino Perna is the holding company and it also owns credit card company Diners Club Italia and Italian book publisher Maria Ricci Editore.
