Axa dental division looks for marketer

Denplan, the dental healthcare division of Axa Group, is looking for a marketing director.

The job is being covered by Stephen Gates, who was promoted from marketing director to managing director in January. He retained his marketing duties, but has now decided to appoint a marketing director after finding it difficult to handle both jobs.

The marketing director will be responsible for finding new business opportunities for the company and developing brand values.

Based in Winchester, Denplan employs about 300 people. Under the company’s plan, patients pay a fixed monthly sum to their dentist via Denplan, which takes a percentage of the fee as commission.

This covers them for check-ups and general treatment such as X-rays, fillings, root treatment and other routine procedures. Dental injury and a worldwide emergency service are also included.

Denplan is currently used by a third of UK dentists and the company has over 1 million customers. Most patients pay between &£7.27 and &£18.85 a month, depending on the health of their teeth.

Denplan was set up in 1986 and joined PPP Healthcare in 1993. PPP was taken over by Guardian Royal Exchange in 1997, which was in turn taken over by Axa two years later.

Let me put Lloyds TSB customers’ minds at rest. This is simply not true. Customer transaction […]
