Mega Profile snaps up its scaffold rival

Mega Profile, the scaffold advertising company that was forced to take down a billboard outside Harvey Nichols this year, has bought rival company Scaffoltising for an undisclosed sum.

Sam Cooke, founder and chief executive of Scaffoltising, will become a consultant with Mega Profile.

Simon Evans, who set up Mega Profile in 1998, says: “This move gives us the critical mass to maintain our lead in the market.

“Scaffoltising has a lot of complementary contacts in the outdoor advertising and property industries that will create opportunities.”

Mega Profile’s customers include fcuk, Rover MG, Reebok and Versace. The banners are typically larger than a 96-sheet poster and cover inner city buildings undergoing construction or renovation.

The company ran into trouble in May this year when the Court of Appeal ruled it had to take down a giant Versace banner hung over Harvey Nichols in Kensington, because it fell foul of planning restrictions.
