The blind lead the blind to 99

So Häagen-Dazs is to introduce unmarked ice-cream tubs (MW last week)? I fear that you have been conned. Either that or Diageo has a very persuasive (and mischievous) marketing department.

Does the company really believe that people will buy ice cream blind? It is more likely that people will pick up the tubs, reading the ingredients of each before they decide which to buy, leaving stores with freezers full of dented, finger-marked tubs. That’ll be popular. Not to mention the fact that, while one customer is rummaging through the rows of identical pots, two others have walked past because someone’s in the way. Bad plan, Häagen-Dazs.
