Jim Campbell, the global marketing director of Rolls-Royce & Bentley Motor Cars has left the company to join conference company First! Venues.

Campbell joined Rolls-Royce & Bentley, the luxury division of Volkswagen Audi Group, a year ago from below-the-line agency Wunderman, where he headed the Jaguar business (MW October 26, 2000).

Campbell is not being replaced. David Goggins, director of marketing communications, and Mark Tennent, director of product strategy, will split Campbell’s duties between them. Both report to board sales and marketing director Adrian Hallmark.

VW has the rights to build Rolls-Royce until next year, when BMW takes over building and selling the cars. Bentley remains with VW.

Prior to joining Wunderman, Campbell spent five years as sales director for BMW Rover’s Asia pacific region, and two years as Land Rover UK marketing director. He left Land Rover after BMW brought in Dieter Laxy to head UK sales and marketing, prior to selling the marque to Ford.

Campbell joins First! as sales and marketing director. The company employs 112 people in conference centres in Wolverhampton and Rugby and plans to open a third centre in the near future.
