Seven Seas picks UK chief for global role

Seven Seas, the health supplements company, has promoted its UK marketing director, Tom Hardman, to the global role of international marketing director. He will continue to head marketing in the UK.

Hardman’s new appointment is understood to be part of a wider restructure at Seven Seas.

Earlier this month, the company announced it is to sponsor Channel 5’s weekday afternoon chat show, Open House, hosted by Gloria Hunniford. The sponsorship costs about £500,000 a year. Seven Seas has initially signed up for a six-month period commencing September 17, with an option to extend the deal for a further six months.

Open House is backed by Seven Seas NeutraTaste cod-liver oil brand, which is a new range of taste-free and odour-free cod liver oil capsules. Launched this year, NeutraTaste will target the over-35 age group.

A press and poster advertising campaign created by Advertising Principles will support the launch in October.

Seven Seas is also extending its Advanced Formula Multibionta brand into the over 50s sub-sector with the launch of Multibionta 50+.

The company claims to hold a 58 per cent share of the UK cod liver oil market.
