Birmingham Midshires building society steals marketing chief from Alliance & Leicester

Alliance & Leicester’s senior marketing manager, Tim Hague, has been appointed to the new role of head of savings and investments marketing at Birmingham Midshires.

Alliance & Leicester’s senior marketing manager, Tim Hague, has been appointed to the new role of head of savings and investments marketing at Birmingham Midshires.

Hague will be responsible for marketing the Birmingham Midshires’ range of products to new and existing customers as part of a push to build the company through product marketing.

Hague says: “Alliance & Leicester must ensure it continues to offer a simple range of easy to understand products which provide good value and meet specific customer needs.”

Hague has 12 years’ experience in financial services marketing, including senior posts with the West Bromwich and Derbyshire building societies. He will report to Tony Crawford, Birmingham Midshire’s director of marketing.

Birmingham Midshires uses Grey Worldwide to handle the marketing communications of its insurance, loans, mortgages and savings products.

Birmingham Midshires is part of the Halifax bank and is based in Wolverhampton. It employs over 2,000 people and manages assets of over of &£10bn.

The branch network is concentrated in the core areas of the West Midlands, North-west and South-west. The headquarters also provides a range of post and telephone savings accounts and services.

Birmingham Midshires was established in 1849 and is the result of the amalgamation over the years of some 50 building societies, including the Liverpool and Birmingham & Bridgwater Building Societies.
