Inaki Urdangarin, Duke of Palma and son-in-law of King Juan Carlos of Spain, will join the company’s Spanish arm from October 1.

Friends tell the Diary that “Snappy Inaki” is a talented guy. Naki, 33, is a former handball player who has won two Olympic bronze medals, most recently in Sydney.

One says: “Unlike the British Royals, he’s extremely hard-working. He knows his new job will be tough.”

The Diary wishes him well in his taxing new role as vice-president of beach soccer (worldwide).
