Granada Enterprises acquires rights to pop band Liberty

Liberty, the group of singers which lost out in the ITV show Popstars, is to join winning act Hear’Say in Granada Enterprises Commercial Ventures’ (GECV) licensing portfolio.

GECV has acquired the exclusive licensing rights for Liberty and a raft of programmes including Don’t Eat the Neighbours – a 26-part series aimed at the pre-teenage market that explores the social conventions of family life in a community of animals.

Other programmes include Alble and WobbaWorld, two series for CiTV to be transmitted next year, Hattie Satellite, which centres on a tomboy alien, Frontier Racer, and Code Warriors – an adventure fantasy series set in the future and aimed at eightto 14-year-olds.

GECV handles licensing deals Hear’Say and has plans to acquire the rights to more music properties.

Head of licensing Charlie Donaldson says: “We are launching a number of exciting brands to add to our roster of hit child, adult and sport brands.

“The potential of these provides a great platform for the development and growth of an unprecedented range of products.”

The company also handles Liverpool FC and Fetch the Vet.
