Bank accounts to war accounts

Marketing does funny things to people. It made former HSBC marketer Imran Khan set up an Islamic news agency.

The former business graduate, not to be confused with the cricketer, worked at the bank on £40,000 a year but decided to do a Reggie Perrin and change his life. He told the NUJ’s magazine that one day he thought: “Why am I selling these rubbish products?” and resigned.

The Diary would like to point out that it does not agree with Khan’s views on HSBC’s products. But given that he now spends his days documenting the war in Afghanistan you can see his point of view.

He is also a former Taikwando champion, so we obviously wish him all the best.
