Regus countersues Wolf over publication of magazine

Regus, the office supplier, is counter-suing contract publisher Citroen Wolf Communications because it is continuing to produce Regus’s in-house magazine, despite Regus cancelling the contract.

Regus is now claiming that Citroen Wolf is producing a magazine using Regus’s name without permission and which Regus will not distribute to its offices.

Regus informed Citroen Wolf Communications in May that the September edition of 24/7, Regus’s Magazine, would be the last it would be contracted to produce. This followed a dispute over Citroen Wolf Communication’s right to pass on Regus’s client database to 24/7 advertisers (MW November 15).

The move led to Citroen Wolf issuing a High Court claim for more than &£210,000 because of loss of earnings and damage to its reputation.

A spokesman for Regus says: “Regus made it clear to Citroen Wolf Communications, and wishes to make clear to third parties, that it will not accept from Citroen Wolf Communications or its distributor, any subsequent editions of 24/7.”

A spokesman for Citroen Wolf says: “There will be a defence of the counter-claim.”

The original claim by Citroen Wolf Communications is that Regus discouraged advertisers from advertising in 24/7, and told two advertisers that it would not be receiving a copy of the database promised to them by Citroen Wolf Communications.
