Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/ Y&R has won a place on the &£18m Lloyds TSB roster in a move which is expected to see incumbent Saatchi & Saatchi phased out of the business.

Ford Ennals, Lloyds TSB’s managing director of group customer management, says Rainey Kelly will work on a business banking project at the start of the year.

Any new retail business will be split between the two agencies, he says, but work on Lloyds TSB-owned Cheltenham & Gloucester will stay with Saatchi.

But sources say the appointment marks the beginning of the end of the relationship between Saatchi and Lloyds TSB, which began in September 1998. Ennals says specific work for the agency for this year has not been confirmed.

Rainey Kelly beat Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO in the last stage of the pitch late last month.
