New campaign from Halifax

Halifax has launched its latest campaign, which sees the return of employee Howard Brown.

Created by Delaney Lund Knox Warren, the campaign continues the pop-song theme which has run through the ads over the past 14 months.

Brown this time does his own version of Shaggy’s Angel to promote current accounts.

Brown has reached minor celebrity status since he first appeared in Halifax ads in December 2000 singing Sexbomb, originally performed by Tom Jones and Mousse T.

The appearance led to him becoming an ambassador for the bank, appearing on TV programmes and making personal appearances at branches.

Bank of Scotland, which merged with Halifax to form the HBOS group, is also running ads featuring employees.

The first £1m campaign in February will feature Angela Anderson from the Bank of Scotland Glasgow branch on Queen Street.

Media is bought by Zenith Media.
