Don’t call us… no, please don’t

Regular readers may recall a budding poet who sent in a rather interesting ditty last year (MW November 8, 2001). The Diary is now delighted to receive another two submissions from some of our more exotic readers.

One Welsh reader – a professional actor – wants to submit an article entitled “The Salesman As An Actor”.

He says that, “in between jobs”, he has sold guttering, paving and timeshares, which have helped him develop his acting skills. The Diary, always ready to help, suggests acting lessons may be more beneficial.

The second letter is still more intriguing. It contains a feature called “Imagine Jesus in today’s airports” and continues: “It occurred to me that if Jesus, with his long hair and simple clothing, wanted to travel today he would have a miserable time.”

Exactly why the Son of God would need to travel by Ryanair is a mystery. But he’d be handy on a long-haul flight when the wine ran out.
