Swatch Group appoints head of UK marketing

The Swatch Group has promoted its marketing manager David Edwards to head of marketing for the Swatch brand in the UK.

Edwards replaces Hannah Moore as Swatch UK brand director. Moore was recently promoted to international retail development manager.

Edwards is the brand’s third marketing chief in less than a year. Last June, Quentin Higham left to join cosmetics company Coty (MW June 7, 2001). As marketing director of Coty Export, he is responsible for exports to Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Nordic countries.

Moore, formerly Swatch UK retail operations manager, succeeded Higham as head of marketing.

The Swatch group also markets Rado, Tissot, Omega and Calvin Klein watches.

Swatch and Rado are seeking global agencies to handle the brands separately. The company previously created work in house.

Swatch faces increasing competition from Gucci, Nike and Casio in the “affordable” watches market.

The Omega brand in the UK is handled by Partners BDDH.
