£5m campaign for British Tourist Authority

The British Tourist Authority launches a £5m advertising campaign next week to attract overseas visitors to the UK.

The campaign, which carries the slogan ‘UKOK’, has been created by Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO.

It will target the seven prime overseas markets: the US, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The campaign, which breaks next week, will direct overseas customers to the Visitbritain.com/UKOK website, where over 1,200 special offers from the UK tourism industry are on offer.

These include private tours of heritage sites and two-for-one ticket offers.

The ‘UKOK’ banner will also be used for PR initiatives and marketing activity by a number of UK businesses, such as British Airways and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
