There’s going to be a lot of heifers around London this year. No, the Roly Polys aren’t reforming – CowParade is coming to town.
From June, the capital will be full of life-size model cows, painted and decorated by celebrities.
Artists include Des Lynam (cow with bushy moustache wearing tweed jacket), Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen (cow covered in drapes and MDF) and H from ex-band Steps (cow completely devoid of talent).
Most worrying is the fact that one of the cows has been designed by Damien Hirst. Probably best to keep the kids away from that one.
But there is a reason for this tomfoolery. Apart from giving Japanese tourists something else to take pictures of, the cows will be sold off at the end of the year and the proceeds will go to ChildLine. Which is a very mooving gesture. Sorry.
